We are delighted to welcome you to Suzette Bistro. Using local and seasonal ingredients, Suzette features authentic French comfort food inspired by the seaside region of Brittany in the west of France.
Suzette is the recipient of several Calgary restaurant awards and can be found on many ‘best of’ dining lists in the city.
Dominique Moussu is the managing partner and executive chef of Suzette. Originally from Brittany, where he grew up in the hotel-restaurant kitchen of his parents, he attended culinary school at Brevet d’Etudes Professionelles and has worked throughout Europe, the USA, Canada, the Bahamas and even Senegal. Dominique was the executive chef and managing partner at Teatro in Calgary before being the first to bring casual French food to the city with his own L’Epicerie and then Cassis Bistro with partner Gilles Brassart before opening Suzette to highlight the best of Brittany’s unique regional cuisine.
Steven Thompson is chef de cuisine and partner at Suzette: Britannia. He attended culinary school at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and has staged at Statholdergaarden in Oslo, Norway and Centrale in Lima, Peru. In Calgary, Steven worked at Divino and Teatro before joining Suzette in 2017.
Jean-Philippe Charpentier is chef de cuisine and partner at Suzette: Mission. JP is from the south of France where he trained and worked extensively in the local food scene before arriving in Calgary in 2011, joining the kitchen at Cassis where he became head chef, and eventually helping Dominique open Suzette’s first location where he was also head chef. JP then joined Royale Brasserie as chef de cuisine before returning to the Suzette family in 2017.
